Muskerry Golf Club Heritage Committee, hosted an event on Sunday afternoon 26 th March to mark the unveiling of a Sign at the site of the Old Tower Bridge Mill (circa 1803 to 1865) located on the 16th Fairway.

Tom Waldron a member for many years unveiled the Sign.
Chairman of Heritage Committee Ger O’Halloran, delivered a very informative Illustrated Lecture on the History of the Mill in the Clubhouse.
Immediately following the lecture  a Commemorative Photo circa 1840 Ordinance Survey Ireland map of the Mill was unveiled by 3 of our Senior & loyal members Ita O’ Farrell, Carmel O’Leary & Angela Synott.

The attendance today included members of Muskerry Golf Club,  Representatives from Blarney, Muskerry & Inniscarra Historical Society as well as Sir Charles Colthurst Bart of Blarney Castle Estate & Gardens, Charles great Grandfather Sir Richard Colthurst was a founding member of Muskerry GC in 1907 & was our First President of the Club from 1907 to 1914, tremendous Service for 8 years to our Club.
Thanks to Cork City Council, Heritage, Dept who grant – aided the commemorative sign marking the site of the .Old Tower Bridge Mill.
